Free Schema Markup Generator

Build valid JSON-LD schema markup for your Organization, Local Business, Article, Product, FAQ or breadcrumbs, then paste it straight into your page.

Schema markup states the facts on your page in a form built to be read by machines, rather than leaving them to be inferred from your layout. Pick a type, fill in what applies, and paste the result into the page it describes - ideally in the head, though anywhere in the document works.

Mark up what the page is actually about. One well-chosen type beats several speculative ones.

About Schema Markup

What schema markup does

Schema markup states the facts on a page in a form built to be read by machines. Your opening hours are already on the page; marking them up means a search engine reads them as opening hours rather than inferring them from a table.
It changes nothing a visitor sees. It is a block of JSON in the source that describes what the page is about, using a shared vocabulary that search engines and AI assistants both understand.
This generator builds that block for the common types and hands it back ready to paste in.

Which type to use

  • Organization or Person for who publishes the site - worth having on every site.
  • LocalBusiness where there is an address customers visit or a service area.
  • Article for editorial content, carrying author and dates.
  • Product where you sell something, with price and availability.
  • FAQPage for genuine questions and answers already visible on the page.
  • BreadcrumbList to describe where the page sits in the site.
One well-chosen type beats several speculative ones. Marking a page as three things it only partly is makes it harder to classify, not easier.

Common mistakes

  • Marking up content that is not on the page, which is the fastest route to a manual penalty.
  • FAQ markup on a page with no visible FAQ.
  • Details in the markup that disagree with the same details in the text.
  • Adding it once and never updating it when prices or hours change.
  • Assuming markup earns a rich result. It makes one possible, nothing more.

Why it matters more in 2026

Answer engines assembling a response need facts they can rely on, and structured data is the least ambiguous form a fact can take on a web page. Inference from layout works until it does not, and you never see the times it does not.
It also carries identity. Markup naming your organisation, your logo and your genuine social profiles is how scattered mentions across the web get resolved to one entity rather than several.
None of it substitutes for the page being good. It makes a good page easier to use correctly.

Using the schema markup generator

Pick a type, fill in what applies and leave the rest blank - a shorter block of accurate markup is worth more than a long one padded out. The output is JSON-LD, which is the format Google documents as preferred and the only one you can add without touching existing markup.
Paste it into the page it describes, ideally in the head, though anywhere in the document works.

Where to go next

Check the result once it is live. Our schema tester confirms markup is present, the identity schema checker looks specifically for the Organization or Person block, and the local business schema checker covers address and hours.
